🎯 Job Description – MEA Recruitment 2026

The Consultants engaged under the MEA Recruitment 2026 – Consultants in MER Division will work with the Multilateral Economic Relations (MER) Division, focusing on:

✔ Supporting India’s engagement in multilateral groupings such as BRICS, WTO, G20, etc.
✔ Assisting in research and preparation of concept notes and analytical documents on trade, finance, environment, energy, labour, and related economic issues.
✔ Drafting outcome documents, position papers, negotiation briefs, and presentations for ministerial and working group meetings.
✔ Monitoring developments in international economic and financial systems and providing knowledge-based inputs.
✔ Liaising with international organisations, think-tanks, ministries, and partner countries.
✔ Supporting coordination and documentation for Sherpa level and multilateral meetings.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

📌 Educational Qualification

• Candidates must be Indian nationals.
• Higher qualification such as Master’s degree or higher in International Law, Economics, Development, International Relations, Public Administration, Strategic Studies, Trade, Environment, or related areas from a recognized Indian or international university is required.

🧠 Experience

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Consultant or in a relevant policy, research, or analytical role.
• Experience in policy making, international economic research, analytic writing, or advocacy is desirable.

💻 Skills

• Strong analytical and writing skills
• Experience in speech writing, negotiation support, and drafting legal/economic documents
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other office applications.

💰 Remuneration (Salary & Benefits)

Under the MEA Recruitment 2026 – Consultants in MER Division, the remuneration package will be commensurate with experience and profile, subject to a maximum of ₹10,00,000 per annum (before tax). Selected consultants will be engaged on a contractual basis and will NOT be entitled to regular government employee benefits such as PF, pension, gratuity, HRA, or medical facilities.
