The engagement is purely on a professional basis for handling prosecutions, appeals, revisions, and other matters arising out of cases investigated by the CBI.

CBI Kolkata intends to engage four advocates to conduct prosecutions, appeals, revisions, and other matters arising out of CBI investigations before the Calcutta High Court.

Professional Fee Structure

As per DoPT Letter No. 225/18/2023-AVD-II dated 24.01.2024:

Since Kolkata is one of the specified metro cities, the daily appearance fee is ₹15,000 per case per day.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

Enrollment Requirement

Candidates must:

• Be duly enrolled as an Advocate.
• Be enrolled with the Bar Council of Calcutta High Court.

Professional Experience: CBI Special Public Prosecutor

Applicants must have:

• Experience at the Bar in handling criminal matters before various courts, including the High Courts.
• Substantial experience in criminal litigation.

Minimum Experience Required

Candidates should possess significant experience in conducting criminal cases before courts.

Nature of Work: CBI Special Public Prosecutor

Selected Retainer Counsels will be responsible for:

• Conducting prosecution on behalf of CBI.
• Handling Appeals.
• Conducting Revisions.
• Representing CBI before the Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta.
• Appearing in other miscellaneous matters related to CBI investigations.

Engagement Period

The engagement shall be for a period of three years, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
