MEA Recruitment 2026: The Ministry of External Affairs has released an official notification for the recruitment of 02 Consultant posts in the Policy Planning & Research (PP&R) Division on a contractual basis. Eligible Indian candidates with expertise in International Relations, Public Policy, Foreign Policy, International Law, Geopolitics, Research, and Content Writing can apply online or offline before the last date.

The engagement will initially be for 1 year, extendable based on performance and requirement. Selected candidates will work with the Ministry in New Delhi on foreign policy research, analysis, strategic studies, diplomacy, and related domains.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Applicant must be an Indian National.
• Post Graduate degree from a recognized university in India or abroad.
• Expertise or experience in:
  • International Relations
  • Public Policy
  • Foreign Policy
  • International Law
  • Climate Diplomacy
  • Strategic & Security Studies
  • International Trade & Economy
  • Digital & Cyber Diplomacy
• Evidence of:
  • Research work
  • Content writing
  • Publications
  • Academic journals
  • Think-tank or research organization experience
• Strong writing and presentation skills are required.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates having:

• PhD or research specialization in International Relations/Public Policy.
• Knowledge of foreign languages.
• Previous experience in the Ministry of External Affairs.
• Experience in reputed academic institutions or international think tanks.

Age Limit: MEA Recruitment 2026

Age will be calculated as on the last date of application submission.

Salary / Remuneration

Selected candidates will receive remuneration based on qualification and experience.

Additional Details:

• No HRA will be provided.
• No PF, Pension, or Gratuity benefits.
• Paid leave allowed at 1.5 days per completed month.
